It is situated at the foot of the Bainskloof Mountains, high enough to offer views from the sunrise with its golden rays over the beautiful mountains of the Slanghoek Valley to its last pink and grey-blue shadows.
The 100-square metre house comprises 2 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 4 guests at a time. The main bedroom has an extra-length, king-size bed and the second bedroom has 2 extra-length single beds or a king-size bed. Each room has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin.
The kitchen is equipped with a stove, fridge-freezer, convection microwave, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery. A washing machine is available by prior arrangement.
The lounge has a comfortable leather lounge set, a fireplace as well as a TV with DStv, and a dining area with ample seating where guests can enjoy their meals together. Guests can also enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi access.
There are lovely braai facilities available on the deck outside for guests to use during their stay.
The unit boasts cool summers with air-conditioners backed by a good solar system and unforgettable winters with enough wood to enjoy the snow from a warm fireplace heating the living area. It is accessible to several nearby wedding venues and activities include easy walking and cycling routes, with a waterfall within easy reach.
Guests are afforded covered parking on the premises.

Words can not describe how special and beautiful this place is, from the beautiful surrounding mountain scenery to stepping onto the deck and taking in the fresh air and beauty. The house is well thought out with fresh flowers on the table, table settings laid out already, warm blankets and a fantastic big fireplace with enough wood for those cold evenings. We spent 6 nights and we are well rested. From reading on the deck while sitting in the sun to migrating to the fireplace as evening sets in. Enjoy the views of the birds at the bird bath and don't forget the two mongoose that come to visit. Binoculars and bird books are a must! There are some nice hikes so don't forget comfortable shoes for that. The tranquillity and soulfulness are world class. Thank you Carin, we will be back soon.
Everything was just perfect. The house is well stocked with everything you need, the remoteness of the house and glorious views and the indoor and outdoor fireplace added to our amazing experience.

We had a wonderful stay - the house is perfectly furnished with everything you need. View over the valley is beautiful. Nature sounds are refreshing after the city noise. Nice that you are isolated, because our dogs could walk around without bothering others. The area also has nice places to visit such as Monk's Gin for nice gin tasting.
Very tidy and well equipped with modern facilities including a Nespresso machine. Beautiful setting with mouse dogs, badgers and birds visible from the front porch. Pet-friendly restaurants close to accommodation (Calabash and the Orchard). Baboons were a bit troublesome especially because we Schnauzers wanted to play with them but that is just part of nature where we share their habitat.

Great place to get away. House is equipped with everything you can think of that you will need. Even coffee, tea, 500ml milk and salt and pepper and other spices. Enough wood to make a fireplace for the whole winter. I want to go again.
What a beautiful place. Can't get enough of the beautiful mountains. Would still like to give it more than 5 stars. Nice clean and comfortable, everything one needs. Great with the solar power, loadshedding didn't bother me at all.
We could relax wonderfully and just sit and look out over the most beautiful fynbos and mountains. Well equipped home with pampering such as a dishwasher, warm blankets and a lovely fireplace.
Fynbosrust is an incredible hidden gem! Perfect for a break in the countryside to renew the soul. Very private and only nature's silence can be heard. The house has all the amenities one might need and Carin was very helpful with all the questions and requests we had. We hope to visit again soon for more than just a weekend - it was an absolute pleasure to be there!
The Eskom situation didn't help, but great place to spend time.
We all loved the peace and quiet, the walks and stillness. Sheba loved the early morning walks and watching the views from the deck. It's the perfect place for recharging. We'll definitely be back!

We will definitely go back to Fynbosrust again. This is the perfect place to recharge your battery. We would also recommend it any day. There are nice hiking trails to a waterfall and in the mountain. It is very safe and quiet. There is no traffic to disturb your getaway. We will see you again soon.

It is one of the best places to relax and appreciate the Cape nature. It's a place where you can get away from the hustle and bustle and recharge. Perfect for you and your better half or family of 3 or 4 people.
The house, location and how comfortably it is equipped let everyone relax and enjoy nature. Nice family evenings and togetherness like in the old days. We will visit often.
We felt so relaxed and rejuvenated being immersed in the mountains with nothing but the sounds of birds. The house was immaculately clean and you can tell the owners put a lof of love and attention into the details. The insulation is really good so we stayed super warm even though it was going into winter. The bed is extremely comfortable. We had no problems with running out of electricity even with a cloudy/rainy weekend. I would come back every weekend if I could.
We can recommend Fynbosrus to anyone looking for a peaceful destination in nature. The house is simple but very practically designed, with beautiful furniture and top finishes. The place is dead quiet at night, and withthe exceptionally comfortable bed, we both had the best night's rest in recent memory. The location is perfect; beautiful walks in fynbos, waterfalls and mountains, and only 90 minutes from Cape Town. Our 2 nights there made us feel like we had been on holiday for a week. Will definitely be going back.
