To accommodate our guests during our hot and dry Karoo summers, we have a swimming pool, a lapa (boma) and for the more adventurous there is the Breede River, which flows by on the border of our farm. The guest cottages at Weltevrede, the original homestead on this seventh generation family farm, are built on the edge of one of the dams on the farm. The river and dam are popular for fishing and bird watching.
For the city dweller, Weltevrede is a haven of peace and tranquillity. Although our cottages are self-catering, with exception of the three en-suite private rooms; meals can be pre-booked from our Bistro. Please note that the Bistro is closed on Saturdays due to weddings and functions.
To accommodate our guests during our hot and dry Karoo summers, we have a swimming pool, a lapa (boma) and for the more adventurous there is the Breede River, which flows by on the border of our farm. Place small and cramped. Just one bedside table, one reading lamp. No water in taps during load shedding. Only two candles, later a lamp was brought. No mats in front of the bed, cold floor.
Beautiful place with a nice location.
The house was very cozy. Might lack a few kitchen items for someone staying longer, but the rest of the amenities were great.
It was such a relaxing stay, with great activities for the kids. We loved being introduced to the Sir Viva, the calf living next to our house. My kids visited him every day and loved being included in the feeding of all the animals. Thanks for doing everything to make our stay pleasant. The farm bread was an extra bonus.

We are from the city and were looking for some peace and quiet and that was exactly what we got. We will definitely go again.
The institution refers to themselves on the advertisement as self-catering, but there were no facilities, there was mention of the no facilities in their message to us, but I must say that I did not look at the message at the very bottom of the booking, I would ask that they put it with the ad.
We stayed on Touriga unit. The cottage itself is simple but has everything needed for 2 people. The stoep and braai were well sheltered from the wind. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a short stretch of dirt road to the farm which is in good condition. Worth it!
It was a freezing cold, rainy weekend, but one of the most enjoyable visits with friends away from all the noise. I would recommend it to any group of friends, or a couple looking to get away.
The second day of our stay they moved us to a larger unit and once again only 1 of the 4 plates worked on the stove. We really recommend that they pay attention to maintenance and upgrading if they want to charge the rates.
Our cottage by the dam was lovely! Everything you need is there. The barbecue area overlooks the pond and lovely green lawns and a beautiful large tree. Vineyards lay behind us with bunches full of grapes. Although we didn't need it, the air conditioner is a winner for the hot summer days for sure. Double-ply toilet paper and a bar of soap is always a winner.
Quiet farm environment to relax, but also close enough to the town. Bathroom in Vindoux is just very small and a bit impractically laid out. Kitchen has only basic amenities. Place was very clean and tidy, but needs some maintenance.
There is only one word: fantastic!
Such a lovely peaceful stay on a beautiful farm. The accommodation was neat and clean and comfortable. Close to all amenities. Would definitely recommend.

Here we could recharge the batteries a bit. With the mountains around us and the tranquility and natural beauty, one has a renewed appreciation for life. Amazing birdlife. Owners were very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.
We had a nice getaway overnight. Very good food and hospitality. Romantic atmosphere, but the flies bothered. Surely it comes with the farm? It would be great if there could be a citro cherry and poison to repel the flies. We will visit again - provided the flies are addressed!
Received very hospitably and the house was beautiful and very tidy. It was just incredibly quiet and peaceful and we just sat on the porch until late in the evening, while the fire was burning and just enjoying ourselves in the tranquility. As always, one night is hopelessly short.
Good experience and value for money. Lots of potential for additional services such as wine tours, horse riding and hiking trails in and around the area.
It was nice, but not at all practical for older people as the parking is completely impractical, especially for unloading luggage.
