It is the best place to rest, have a good barbecue, read a book, walk to the pond and enjoy the most beautiful views from the place. The most beautiful sunrise in the morning. Everything was just perfect.

Breathtaking view. Total privacy. Silver clean unit. Fantastic service. These are just a few words that describe KumbuKumbu Mountain Villas. This is the best self catering unit I have ever booked. Location: The location is fantastic - a private glass house on top of a mountain with a 360-degree view of mountains, valleys, fynbos, dams and rivers. There is not a single building or road or person as far as the eye can see. In the evening you can lie on the bed and look up at a beautiful starry sky. The photos are an accurate reflection of the view, but it does not come close to the real Jacob. Unit: My wife and I lived in the Summit unit. It is a modern, luxurious unit with all the comforts of your own home; there is even a dishwasher. Above all, the unit was spotless - so clean that you could walk barefoot without getting your feet dirty. When you open the door it feels like you are walking into a brand new unit. Safety: Although it is a glass house, we felt 100% safe. The unit is deep in the mountains on a fenced farm. Service: Ivonne is a fantastic hostess. The booking was quick and easy, and she went the extra mile to make our holiday special for us. She is quick to respond if you have any questions and she makes sure you have everything you need. There are many more great things to say about KumbuKumbu, but I don't want to drag out the review too long. Do yourself a favor and book for a few nights. You will not regret it!
KumbuKumbu Mountain Villas teaches you the value of time. The absolute silence and then in a place like Summit is like your mother's best pudding on a Sunday. Value for money should not even be a criterion with KumbuKumbu Mountain Villas. Everything is perfect and everything has been thought of and done here.
We stayed two nights. The silence and beauty made it feel like we were away from the noise of the city for a week. Everything is neat and in its place, every cupboard you open makes you feel as if its contents have been put there especially for you. We would definitely recommend KumbuKumbu Mountain Villas.
If you enjoy a bit of peace and quiet and being surrounded by natural beauty, this really is a wonderful place to stay - and you are not roughing it at all. A beautiful, modern off-grid design, this villa has every comfort and thoughtful extras - perfect for a couple's escape. Top new appliances, excellent Wi-Fi, plenty of ice in the freezer, more than enough firewood for the indoor braai and the fireplace, rusks, tea, coffee, sugar, and even a few sanitary items in the bathroom just in case. We were incredibly impressed at the care and thought that Ivonne and her team have put into the villas. There are even labels on light and other switches, so you can easily find your way around and know what is what. The clever, open plan, glass and steel design makes for a spacious stay, while you can also close up, still enjoy the views and be completely insulated as the wind howls around the place, thanks to the double glazing. Buy all your supplies en route, because once you settle in, you will not want to drive anywhere too soon.

Our stay at KumbuKumbu was rated one of the best stays we have encountered in South Africa travelling. Our host was so supportive, friendly and attentive and guided our travelling and stay with much ease. The cleanliness and attention to detail of this lodge surpass any we have ever seen before. From the first steps on the property, you can feel at home immediately. This truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and an absolute bucket list item you have to experience. KumbuKumbu Mountain Villas is a place I will definitely see again. It is clean, the house (Quarriebosch) and I believe the other one would too, took my breath away. The Karoo and the mountains were picture-perfect and especially when the moon surprises you with its golden yellow face around 10:00 pm in the evening. What an experience and a place I will definitely go back to. Just make sure you have your 4x4 or 2x4 ready, because the Karoo is not made for city cars. Ivonne really made sure everything was right and that our weekend was magical. It is worth any price. I will go again and again. We stayed at Summit unit. It almost felt like we were sitting on the summit of the Langeberge. The vistas around you take your breath away and you just want to sit and admire the view that keeps changing as the sun moves from east to west. This while you once again listen closely to what silence actually sounds like. The unit itself is also something to behold in awe. The layout is smartly planned and the crockery, cutlery and kitchen appliances are of high quality. One cannot get better. The weekend was a once in a lifetime getaway opportunity for us that we had been saving up for for a long time. We can unequivocally state that the experience was worth every penny. It was an experience we will remember for years to come, thanks to KumbuKumbu - 'Place of Memories'.

KumbuKumbu ticks every box when it comes to luxury accommodation, absolute privacy and the most breathtaking views! We were treated to a thunder show the first night and the clearest skies with star gazing the second night. We were in the pool all day to admire the views and really enjoyed the scenery and silence. It's very rare that we visit the same place twice, but KumbuKumbu is definitely back on our list!

We ended our honeymoon at the perfect destination. On arrival a bottle of champagne waited for us in an ice bath. What a big surprise. We will return every year.
The villa was so clean, with amazing views.
When we arrived there were firewood, lighters, milk, butter, biscuits and ice. The houses are tastefully and durable furnished and can be recommended. The +- 3km dirt road to the house was in great condition and we drove it easily with a sedan.
