I chose the place purely based on how close it was to JHB and didn't have high expectations. But once we arrived, the villa we stayed in was absolutely stunning and far exceeded anything we were expecting. The staff are also amazingly friendly and helpful.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It is a very unique accommodation that is stylish and yet very close to nature.
Everything was just perfect! From the friendly and welcoming staff, the treatment we got throughout our weekend, the cleanliness of our cottage to the peaceful sounds of the bushes. The ideal weekend away I had in mind when making the reservation.
Stunning and breath taking.
Really had a great time at iKhaya LamaDube Game Lodge. I stayed in a poolside cottage and I promise you it exceeded my expectations, the unit was clean and had all utensils that we need during our stay. The staff was very lovely, kind, and super helpful, They were available to assist 24/7, which I find very convenient. iKhaya recommends activities to do when you are around. However, I feel that even if you just want to stay indoors, it’s still going to be worth it.
The welcome was warm, hot towels and a drink while checking in are offered. The decor of the chalet is modern, clean and well laid out to bring nature inside. Very cute swimming pool and recreation area to relax in the summer.

I haven't been this impressed with a lodge in a while. Our welcome was incredible with the friendliest staff, refreshment towels and a delicious welcome drink. The lodge is spotless and facilities are well-maintained with stunning furniture and decor. Thank you to the staff, we had a wonderful weekend away.
We went home in the Safari tent which was a nice experience. Didn't need anything and we could hear the night noises especially the Hyenas and Jackals. Friendly staff immediately made you feel welcome. Definitely a gem in the woods.

Luxury Forest Villa is exactly what the name says. Perfect romantic getaway. Service was excellent. Received extra special treatment on our wedding anniversary. The unit is very well equipped.

This beautifully decorated, luxury self-catering cottage had everything you could need for a great stay. The private pool is great for watching the animals roaming past, and everything is luxurious. Unfortunately, it's in quite a remote part of the park and the recent rains have blocked off the river crossing so you need to leave the park and drive quite a distance to enter into the other parts. The occasional dog barking from a nearby property was a bit of a disturbance to the wonderful bush sounds, but luckily it wasn't all the time. The cottage itself though, is relaxing, luxurious, and set in a beautifully private garden with game regularly walking only metres away from the fence.
It was a nice, peaceful getaway.
The staff was very friendly and helpful upon arriving. We even got cold towers to cool us down from the African heat. The Safari Tent was clean and well furnished. Secluded away from any other units. We really enjoyed going around in the game vehicles and seeing the wildlife in the reserve. Our guard Keanan was very knowledgable.

It was absolutely fantastic! From the view of the wildlife to the excellent cleanliness of the unit. 10/10 for the cleanliness! The absolute silence and nature sounds were the perfect escape! The lodge is located close to a restaurant and easily accessible to the rest of the reserve! The facilities are nicely furnished and modern. The place is fantastically set up and laid out. We will definitely book there again. We enjoyed it very much.

We were so impressed with the service and cleanliness of the accommodation. We stayed in the tented camp - it provided everything we needed for a luxurious quiet bush retreat. Highly recommended.
A quiet, private and safe place to stay, conveniently close to the city for a getaway. The villa we stayed in was very clean and tidy, very comfortable and nicely furnished. Professional staff, ideal atmosphere created in the place of residence. It is a bonus to sit on the deck or in the pool and watch the wildlife passing by. Can definitely recommend a visit to the lodge.

We stayed in the hide-away and were surprised by the beautiful, clean, luxurious unit. It is very private and the reception was fantastic. The unit has everything one needs and more.
We live in JHB and wanted a breakaway from the city noise etc. We searched on LekkeSlaap and came across iKaya LamaDube. What a wonderful place. We were met with such professionalism and grace. We were taken to our SafariTent and a full walkthrough of the place were given. We were blown away by the staff's friendliness and the place of course. I can recommend this place as a great go to if you want to escape the city and go to the bush! Keep up the good work and we will definitely see you again soon!

Very calm and friendly service.
Romantic isolated unit that is incredibly clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and always helpful. It's ideal for that romantic getaway with your loved one. The best thing is to sit in the pool with a cold glass and look out at the variety of wildlife walking by.
We enjoyed our stay but the hidden cost disclaimer after our booking was secured came as a surprise. Breakage deposit only refundable after 4 week, please note that with the amount of utensils available to ease your stay no inventory was available to double check. Conservation fees not included in the daily rates. Although the booking was self catering, no mosquito repellant was offered even after asking. Other than the above we enjoyed our stay.
Price paid for the pool side cottage was really worth it. Cleanliness of the place is really on a top notch. Even when the lights went off the Saturday and Sunday, the staff were there to make sure we were fine and still enjoying ourselves. Suggestion for entrance on De Wagendrift Road, etiquette signage is needed, cause we got lost as there was no signage telling were we should go until we were assisted after calling the lodge.

Reception was friendly. People are very helpful. The place was cleaned nicely every day. The deck is peaceful and the sunset was picture perfect every night. The shower water was a problem but we were also well assisted with another option. Safe.

In the Safari Tent it feels like you are somewhere in a remote location in Botswana or Tanzania. The feeling of the establishment and the super friendly staff is superb and out of this world. Cynthia and the rest of the staff is super friendly and kind.

These luxury self-catering villas are our new home-away-from-home. Amazing fine detail in decor and well thought out house plan and location. These villas are private, romantic and furnished with every possible accessory/kitchen utensil you could possibly need. Lovely tables are set for you in your villa - one in your private boma and the other by your private pool. Game can be viewed from the comfort of your porch/swimming pool/bed seeing that there is a water hole only 30 m away. The staff is helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone with an open mind.

By die eenheid was die bed mooi versier met 'n hartjie en daar is buite twee tafels gedek met rooi en wit en sjampanje op ys. Ons het seker nie eers 2 ure op die stoep gesit nie toe kom daar 'n stuk van omtrent 10 koedoebulle na die watergat reg voor ons stoep. Die plek is super netjies en skoon.

This was definitely a weekend that my husband and I could just sit back and relax, the silence was charming. We were warmly received with a glass of orange juice and felt just as welcome. A very peaceful place with units that are very well equipped, can really only take your food and clothes. The workers were extremely friendly and it was exactly what we wanted. They put a lot of effort into little extras like a fire packed with sticks and grass every day to make it easier for you. Also got a paraffin lamp every day at the boma and a "doom plug" for the mosquitoes (although we didn't need to use it). The access roads may be a problem for flat cars. Really enjoyed and will definitely go there again!

We immediately fell in love with our accommodation in the rondavel in nature and the boma was a joy, nice and private, and the fire at night was wonderful! Nice place to break away for the weekend!
We stayed in the cottage, reception was warm and welcoming. The owners are very hospitable and willing to assist with any needs required. We went for a Self-drive through the bush all day on the Saturday and afterwards stopped at the local watering hole down the road who serves craft beer brewed on premises. We arrived back at our cottage and the staff had set up the boma for a romantic evening, table set with candles and champagne glasses and fire pit prepped (a very welcomed surprise). Went on the Sunday morning for a game drive with the owners, they are passionate and knowledgeable about the bush. All in all a lovely weekend break.

We got some great rest at this well-equipped log cabin. So peaceful and the game grazing in front of the unit is such a nice surprise. The lapa was great too - we had a great time by the fire every night and we experienced the peace and quiet of the veld, not to mention the starry sky! The Log Cabin is situated on a stilted wooden deck and can accommodate 2 guests.
