Die Herehuis is a Victorian-style mansion that was built in the late 1800’s by a Sir Kieser from England and situated 2 streets away from the busy N1 in the quiet town of Beaufort West. Ideally situated between Johannesburg and Cape Town, George and has a romantic and unique sense of style in the heart of the Great-Karoo.

Accommodation comprises 17 luxury units of which 6 are horse stables that have been renovated and uniquely decorated. All units are equipped with, cotton bed linen, Anti-allergic duvets and pillows, bar fridge, complimentary tea- and coffee-making facilities, DStv, Wi-Fi, insect repellents, hairdryer, soap, tissues and air-conditioning for relief in the summer months with blankets for the cold winters.

Next to the swimming pool and is a garden for kids to play and a big covered braai area with a kitchenette, making this the ideal place for group bookings. Karoo Lamb “Braai” packs can be pre-arranged. There is the lovely transparent sunroof dining room, open from Monday to Saturday for dinners and breakfast, famous for real karoo style dishes and breakfasts, through pre-arrival booking must be done.

Die Herehuis offers free secure out-of-the-eye off-street parking behind locked gates and CCTV cameras. They speak English and Afrikaans. Smoking is permitted in the garden area and on private verandas.

The guesthouse is only 6 km away from the Karoo National Park with lovely scenic routes and more than 6000 fauna and flora species. The park is also home to five tortoise species the most in any conservation area in the world. The park also has challenging 4x4 routes into the mountains as well as bike, walking and fossil trails.
