Accommodation comprises 17 luxury units of which 6 are horse stables that have been renovated and uniquely decorated. All units are equipped with, cotton bed linen, Anti-allergic duvets and pillows, bar fridge, complimentary tea- and coffee-making facilities, DStv, Wi-Fi, insect repellents, hairdryer, soap, tissues and air-conditioning for relief in the summer months with blankets for the cold winters.
Next to the swimming pool and is a garden for kids to play and a big covered braai area with a kitchenette, making this the ideal place for group bookings. Karoo Lamb “Braai” packs can be pre-arranged. There is the lovely transparent sunroof dining room, open from Monday to Saturday for dinners and breakfast, famous for real karoo style dishes and breakfasts, through pre-arrival booking must be done.

The breakfast was a bit excessive for the price. There was no toast offered together. Pay R130 for the omelette and that's it. Think the price for what one gets is a bit rough. Even with my sons' peasant breakfast, there was not even bread for the boys. Think a little more attention should be paid to it and the price.
Friendly reception with beautiful gardens and a silver clean swimming pool. Our dog children were just as kindly received. We slept in room number 15 which was believed to be a stable, the largest stable I have ever come across - spacious, clean and well appointed.
The room was big and clean, all amenities worked well and all staff were welcoming and polite. The location was perfect and quiet.

The Mansion is beautiful and surrounded by beautiful trees and vegetation. The reception was warm and friendly. Their dinner is delicious and the service was really unbeatable. We were three adults with 2 children under six, sharing a family room. The bathroom and room with three small beds is pitch dark during loadshedding with no window or curtains that can be opened to light the rooms. No solar panels, generators or inverters are available during load shedding. The air conditioning in the master bedroom does not cool at all and has to be switched on and off at the wall. There was half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom which was a bit small for 5 people!
Shower water was below lukewarm.
The Mansion was always a great destination with a hostess who met you personally. The finesse and finish were tasteful. It's not like that anymore. There are new owners, but they don't have the same care as the previous owner.

The Mansion is a very neat and stylish guest house. The gardens are well maintained, you just want to be outside on the comfortable benches that are on the verandas. The reception and the rest of the staff go out of their way to carry you on their hands. The rooms are very clean, tidy and tasteful. The food is fantastic. The Mansion is from now on my no. 1 overnight stay.
Marietjie and her team were great. Welcoming, warm, helpful, attentive to needs etc. etc. And the rooms were extremely comfortable, clean, tidy, tastefully done with lighting for load shedding. The pool and braai area was just as nice with the convenience of drinks available on site. You are definitely our preferred accommodation in Beaufort from now on! Thank you very much.

We were 4 adults - spacious family room. We were even able to enjoy dinner on the porch in front of our unit instead of dining hall, which suited us better with 2 dogs traveling along.

We got there late because the road was long, but we were kindly received by the drivers [she waited to meet us in person]. The beds were of a great standard and the room was spacious and beautifully furnished, made us feel like real gentlemen. She saw to it that our dinner was made for us. It was delicious lamb shanks with side dishes. The next morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast in their beautiful breakfast area and left early again. Very large parking area behind the house. Very safe with security systems. This is a truly beautiful, old, historic house, feel free to sleep here.
One night we spent the night there, upon arrival we were received very kindly. The receptionist was very friendly and did her best to help us make dinner reservations. Unfortunately we let the reception know for dinner too late.

We required overnight accommodation for just 1 evening. This is another gem in Beaufort West. First impression was. wow. Beautiful premises. The check-in process was quick with friendly staff. Room was beautiful with little extras to make the stay pleasant. The food served in the tranquil dining area was divine and we were able to pre-order our meals, so there were no long waits. My only regret was not having space for desert.

This establishment prides itself on its professionalism, and it doesn't fall down on any aspect of guest house hospitality. A special shout out to Sarika, the receptionist, who is a total asset. She and the manageress have a team of friendly, well-trained staff to assist them. What a pleasure to stay over at the Herehuis, after a hard day's travel!

The Mansion is probably one of the best guesthouses in the Karoo! The owners are directly involved and do not hesitate to take care of any of your needs or to prepare special foods for you due to preferences. The establishment is animal-friendly and the hostess even gives the dogs traveling together Karoo chips for dinner! Amazing service and back to back as if you checked into a hotel. The rooms are great, the lounge areas are great and absolute safety for your car and luggage when it comes to parking. The food served is five star top restaurant quality! The decor of the establishment you can immediately notice has a personal hand for detail and mixed with old-fashioned and new charm that makes it special. For sure a must on your bucket list if you are touring the Karoo and want to spend the night in Beaufort West.

Wow, we have never received such a warm reception when travelling with our fur babies. They even received a full bowl each of the lamb chops that were on the menu that evening - talk about spoiled. Rooms were clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Additional dinner was exceptional and hearty. Real boerekos. We will definitely only book at one place when in Beaufort. Thank you so much!
They allowed guests to bring pets with them which was nice as allowed for a relaxed environment for all of the dogs and families.

We have stayed here a few times and have always been very satisfied with everything. What did bother us, on our recent visit, was the unexpected pet fee that was additionally charged. It was also disappointing that there was not even milk provided for the two bags of coffee per person.

We were looking for an overnight stay en route from JHB to CT which served an evening meal. We found it at Die Herehuis and more. From the staff to the comfort of the rooms to the delicious meal, everything was top notch. We will definitely recommend Die Herehuis and return on our next journey.

The room was very hot due to load shedding. Nothing was done to make it easier with the four hours of load shedding. Reception was not very friendly. Previous visits were very pleasant.
Disappointing that only Ricoffy, and not filter coffee, is served for breakfast. Only Ricoffy- not pure coffee- sachets are available in the room.
Overall, the linen is clean and the room offers everything one needs for an overnight stay. The staff is very friendly. However, communication is few and not as comprehensive / complete as with previous visits here. The room was not very clean - shower, floors and baseboards were still dirty. There was also no provision for load shedding, other than a rechargeable lamp (so no air conditioning, TV etc.) Unfortunately, the cost does not justify what is offered.
A few recommendations and observations: For the price they should include breakfast, it is completely "overpriced". TVs in the room were very small. The Body Wash was a quarter full. For a 4 star they can provide better coffee in the makers than Nescafe. The toilet's handle was broken so you couldn't flush the toilet, we reported it (room 9). Security is good. Braaikamer is nice and good wood that they provided for braai. Comfortable beds.
The guest house is so beautiful and very clean and my children had so much fun swimming in the pool while I lay on the sun lounger. Most beautiful peaceful atmosphere. We regretted eating too much in the afternoon, so didn't eat at the guest house, but will def next time.

We absolutely loved our stay at this guesthouse. Super friendly hosts, stunning decor, really clean and our children loved the pool. We travelled with a trailer and the parking inside was safe and easy to navigate in and out of. We opted to not eat the dinner offered. We had our own dinner and enjoyed eating it in the relaxing garden. We did opt for the breakfast and it was delicious.

I did not know about this establishment on previous trips where we stayed overnight in Beaufort, and what a gem! Clean, spacious unit with private patio/stoep area, and most importantly accommodated my dog. Room had all the amenities needed for our short stay, and ample secure parking on the premises. Nicolette was friendly, efficient super helpful from the time of booking until our arrival that evening. Will definitely be staying over here again should we be in that part of the region for an overnight stay.

I loved the nice and spacious room with the most beautiful, luxurious linen, all the little things that were thought of - everything you could need is there, as well as enough coffee, tea, sugar, etc. The dinner was delicious and effort was made with the food presentation. I travel often and haven't slept as well as at Die Herehuis in a long time. I will definitely stay there again and can wholeheartedly recommend Die Herehuis.

We rested wonderfully after a long day on the long road. The reception was a warm Karoo feeling, the food was delicious and the management does not hesitate to talk to people and hear how they are doing, share opinions etc. We had a great time and were fully rested the next day for our 2nd session to Cape Town. Our dog Leo was carried on the hands and not a problem for the guest house at all. We will definitely stay there again.

All is well and good. However, I don't like the idea of being shuffled around when I've already worked my way through the rooms and when I get there I'm supposedly upgraded to a bigger room. I already chose what I wanted, don't move me around.

Reception was very friendly and as always we called to hear what time we will arrive as well as meal options. Meals as always delicious. Plus points for this. Unfortunately, this time we were disappointed with our accommodation option at Die Herehuis. Was specific when booking room number, then got another number. Room was neat and clean, but shower still had previous guests' half-used cookie soap on the floor, as well as soap marks on the shower rack and shower also a little tired. Not standard of The Mansion we were used to. Unfortunately there were noisy neighbors in some of the units next door, management was notified. Management followed it up. Unfortunately we had to inform management again late at night. Unfortunately, this put a negative on our entire overnight experience and little sleep is now not a traveller's best friend. Hopefully, clearer rules can be laid down regarding noise and hanging out in rooms. After all, it remains a guest house and not a hangout.

We were received very welcome, the place is neat and beautiful, it's open and spacious. The rooms are neat and spacious, we slept well. Everything you need is in the rooms and you can just ask if there is anything else you need. The swimming pool was the attraction for my children, they really enjoyed it. It's nice to sit on the porch and relax and drink a coffee while you have a good time. The food was of excellent quality, we really enjoyed eating. Die Herehuis is really an oasis in the dry Karoo, they offer dinner, but due to circumstances beyond their control they couldn't do that evening, they went out of their way to accommodate us as we have a puppy with us and could not have eaten in a normal restaurant. Got takeaways on their recommendation. They set a nice table for us. Secure parking with spacious room provided.
The Mansion is centrally located, but luckily a bit off the main road so it's quiet and peaceful. Facilities are very nicely maintained and rooms are tidy. Service is absolutely superb. Staff looked after us very well.

Die Herehuis exceeded our expectations in December. The feeling you get is "vacation" and with the pool located in the middle of all the rooms, one can relax on the room's porch while the kids play and cool off in the pool. Old and young shared in the fun in the pool. Upon arrival, the staff quickly make you feel at home with a cold drink of your choice and the waitresses will look after your next order. The dinner and breakfast are really top notch and saves a lot of time if you want everything under one roof. We definitely had a very nice stay and have already decided that from Bloem, Die Herehuis is definitely the ideal place for a half-way stop and of course also a child-friendly and animal-friendly place. From there, the road feels shorter.They really made us feel at home on our honeymoon and shared in our joy. Thank you for your loads of hospitality, especially during such a busy time of the year.

This was a stop over on our way to Cape Town but the place was so comfortable that we even struggled to wake up the following day. Nicolette and her entire team are so hospitable. The place is child friendly and even offers a hot pool. The breakfast was amazing. Really loved it.

The Mansion is not one of the most famous Guest Houses in Beaufort for nothing! Wow what an amazing place. You are treated like a VIP when you walk in. The room was beautifully clean and tidy. We were immediately shown to our room and then we could order a little wine to drink and had a wonderful time relaxing by the pool. The children really enjoyed the pool. The evening's lamb roast was exceptional. The breakfast was delicious. Will definitely stay there again.
