ATKV Klein-Kariba resort in one of the Waterberg’s most beautiful kloofs. It is 90 minutes from Johannesburg and an hour’s drive from Pretoria, just outside Bela-Bela.

The resort offers a wide variety of accommodation in the form of apartments, mountain homes, cabins, tent houses, and guest bedrooms. The resort boasts 177 self-catering units. Apart from swimming towels, dishcloths and cleaning supplies, all units are fully furnished and equipped. All units have limited DStv as well as braai facilities and parking.

Guests have access to a host of activities and recreational facilities, as well as an on-site restaurant, a takeaway café, a well-stocked convenience store, and an ATM. The resort boasts 2 hot mineral springs, a heated indoor swimming pool, a cold outdoor swimming pool, and a splash pool. Please note the outdoor heated pool and the baby pool will be closed from 17 July until 8 August 2022 for maintenance. Guests can enjoy activities such as golf and mini golf, volleyball, horse riding, game viewing, hiking, biking, rowing, fishing, snooker, and quad biking.

"Beautiful, activity filled, and exciting escape."

Klein Kariba is beautiful, has so many activities, some of which are free to do, and it is safe. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Everything is well maintained.

As always clean and tidy. Good Wi-Fi. Safe, lots of security and people chasing monkeys and goblins with paintball guns. The only road in and out was very busy, but they warned that they were doing upgrades, so felt a bit like we were camping next to a main road. Next time I would rather use a chalet or apartment. Restaurant food was excellent.

It was nice. There was just no booklet in the unit to explain what all was available to do at the resort. We also quite like to wash our dishes ourselves and there wasn't much to be able to do that. It's always fun at ATKV Klein Kariba. Think because we know what we're getting.

We had a really nice stay and enjoyed ourselves so much with everything there is to do at the resort. Our tent home was very comfortable and had everything we needed. They came to clean and change towels every day. The restaurant surprised us so much with their reasonable prices and prompt service. We were also on a game drive and can recommend it to everyone. The tour guide entertained us so much and informed us well about the animals. Will return again for sure. Many thanks to all the people at the resort.

Very friendly service from the staff. Everything was clean and tidy. My 2 year old enjoyed the nature walks as well as the other swimming and water facilities. It was also a good learning session for my child to be able to see the different animals up close. Our time was too short!

It was very nice. Little Kariba is very neat and everything works there. The staff is very friendly and you feel right at home there. It's lovely in the woods. The animals are also beautiful and not aggressive. The weather didn't cooperate as it was 28, 39 and 40 degrees. We will definitely visit Klein Kariba again.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is very clean and has great activities. Swimming pools are clean and a person can swim for almost 24 hours. There is plenty for children of all ages to do. Load power was not a problem as generators helped a lot. The nature is breathtaking. Accommodation has everything one needs and it is very clean and safe.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in a permanent tent house. The whole resort was a pleasant surprise and we will definitely visit ATKV Klein Kariba again. Resort management can take action against the car owners who stop in the road because they are too lazy to walk a few steps. But don't let that put you off this great resort.

Really awesome stay with my young children, there was so much for the kids to do with all the different play areas. So many different swimming pool options, hot and cold. Everything was clean. There were a lot of bees; actually, 3 of our party of 4 people got stung over the weekend - so if they can look into that for our next visit!

We had a very nice stay. We were there for 7 days and in the 7 days we only had 1 tea towel and 1 cloth and 1 small bottle of diluted Sunlight liquid. After day 2, the little patch disappeared and the little bottle of dish soap was never refilled. Our toilet paper was never replenished either. Our towels were also not replaced until we asked. There are also no dish cloths to take the hot pans out of the oven, everything had to be done with the one tea towel that was provided. If the resort does not provide the above, they should please. communicate so we can take it together next time.

We had a great time, everything was as I expected except the unit was unbearably hot inside, if we hadn't brought an extra fan we wouldn't have been able to sleep.

I recently had a stay at the accommodation unit and wanted to share my experience. The check-in process was smooth and without any problems. I was received quickly and kindly, which made a positive impression. The accommodation itself was reasonable, but I have to say that it needs some updating, especially the shower. It clearly looked like it needed some attention to ensure everything was in good shape. The restaurant's food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. I really enjoyed eating there and would recommend it to other guests, especially the pizza. The entertainment facilities were easily accessible and there was more than enough to do. It made the experience enjoyable and I appreciated that there were so many options available. I would suggest repainting the residential vehicle parking numbers to improve visibility. This will help make the parking area easier to navigate and improve guest experience. Although there are a few small aspects that need attention, my overall stay experience was positive. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future. I recommend this accommodation unit to other travelers who are looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

It feels like you are back at school, the pools are only there for walking, sitting or standing, the security watches you with hawk eyes, if you swim you are told, you are not allowed. We arrived there on Wednesday, that day, and on Thursday and Friday it was so noisy with lawnmowers, weedeaters and leafblowers from 8 o'clock until after 5 o'clock, Saturday was peace and quiet and early Sunday we had to be out again. Where you go there are rules and regulations just like at a school. You are not even allowed to drink soft drinks near the pool, then the security will chase you.

We love ATKV Klein Kariba. But this weekend! We booked a 4 bedroom unit. They checked us into apartment 62, which is actually only meant for 2 people. With bigger children, everyone was under each other's feet. The bed was rock hard, the sofa bed our children had to sleep on was rock hard, and they complained of back pain every morning, and begged us to go home already on Saturday night. It was really a waste of money. The lights in the living room did not work. This unit is not intended for a family of 4!

Unfortunately it had been a disappointment of a weekend. Due to people or children riding bikes around there, not allowed. You may not play soft music at the tents, chalets or at any accommodation. Then, at 19:00 hours in the evenings, you are told to sit inside and talk more softly. You can't even sit around a fire and visit. It is no longer a holiday resort. There are too many rules and regulations, more of a resort for pensioners, or actually they should make it a retirement resort. Will not go there again or take a vacation.

We stayed in the tent house no 15 out of season, for the price the accommodation is absolute value for money! (Out of season/school holidays). The tent house is spacious, neat and luxurious. Everything you need is there, even backup power in the evening so there is no load shedding. All that didn't work was the DStv and remote, but we weren't there to watch TV so it didn't bother us much. The resort is very clean, well maintained and our little one really enjoyed it. We will definitely vacation there again.

Everything was just comfortable from our arrival there. Information when you arrive about daily activities is a bit vague. We arrived on Friday and by Saturday morning most activities were booked out. It would be nice if they could tell you when you get there. But we know now for next time. The rest was all above expectations. Rugby watching was a bonus.
